A few thoughts on the Simpsons movie

  1. It felt shorter than it was. I'm not sure if this was because of good writing or because the industry standard seems to be getting longer.
  2. One of the best gags occurs at the very beginning of the movie. Make sure you get there on time.
  3. The animation had a lot of depth and the colors were very bright. In this sense, seeing what amounted to an extended length Sunday night episode on the big screen added a lot to the experience.
  4. Who would have guessed that Lisa was a horcrux?
  5. There were only a few jokes in the movie that couldn't have been done on Fox, but it was cool to see a slightly more adult version of the show. On the other hand there was less topical/political satire.
  6. The plot was more cohesive than I expected.
